The Most Successful World Biogas Expo Yet for ALPS Ecoscience

The 2026 World Biogas Expo proved to be our most successful exhibition to date, bringing together industry leaders, technology innovators, and plant operators from across the anaerobic digestion sector. For ALPS Ecoscience, the event delivered everything we could have hoped for – excellent visitor engagement, valuable new business opportunities and industry recognition through a prestigious award.

Our stand attracted a constant stream of visitors throughout the two-day event, with many drawn by the striking backdrop featuring one of our modular, containerised SMASH pretreatment systems. Designed to deliver a complete, high-performance pretreatment solution in a compact, factory-built package, the containerised SMASH system generated significant interest from operators looking for practical, scalable solutions that can be deployed quickly and efficiently.

Visualising full scale integration

A particular highlight of the stand was the detailed scale model of a live installation, commissioned by our Operations Director, Jack Dyer-Jones. The model proved to be a real focal point, allowing visitors to visualise how the technology integrates into a working anaerobic digestion facility. It sparked countless conversations with prospective customers and provided an excellent way of demonstrating the compact footprint, modular design and operational benefits of the ALPS solution.

The enthusiasm from visitors reflected a growing recognition that effective feedstock pretreatment is becoming an increasingly important factor in improving plant performance, increasing biogas yields and reducing operational challenges. It was encouraging to speak with so many operators who are actively looking to unlock greater value from their existing assets through improved front-end processing.

Award winning innovation at World Biogas Expo

The success of the exhibition was crowned on the evening of the first day when ALPS Ecoscience was named AD Solution Provider of the Year at the 2026 AD & Biogas Industry BA Awards.

This award, shared with Clinty Bio, recognised the successful deployment of our pretreatment technology at a full-scale anaerobic digestion plant in Northern Ireland. The project demonstrates how innovative pretreatment can deliver tangible operational benefits at commercial scale and highlights the collaborative approach taken by both organisations to deliver measurable improvements for the plant.

Receiving this award in front of our industry peers was a proud moment for everyone involved. It represents not only recognition of the technology itself, but also the dedication of our biological engineering teams who continue to develop practical solutions that help AD operators maximise the value of their feedstocks.

As we reflect on an outstanding World Biogas Expo, we would like to thank everyone who visited the ALPS stand, took the time to discuss their projects, and shared their experiences with us. The quality of conversations throughout the event reinforces the positive direction the industry is taking and the growing demand for innovative pretreatment technologies.

We look forward to building on the momentum generated at this year’s show and working with both new and existing customers as we continue to deliver smarter, more efficient pretreatment solutions for the anaerobic digestion sector.
