Anaerobic Digestion Research & Innovation

Since 2019, ALPS Ecoscience has released several impactful papers, project reports, and presentations, focusing on innovative solutions in the application of Anaerobic Digestion (AD) and related technologies for sustainable energy generation and waste management. Here is an overview.

Major Projects and Reports

R&D projects and client challenges include:

1.H2 BECCS (Bioenergy with Carbon Capture and Storage) Project

Description: This project focuses on producing hydrogen from organic waste using Dark Fermentation, which allows anaerobic digestion plants to produce hydrogen alongside biogas, thus enhancing overall energy yield and reducing carbon emissions.
Outcomes: Phase 1 demonstrated the technical and economic viability of this approach, paving the way for the development of a prototype demonstrator in Phase 2 (GOV.UK).

2. Energy Entrepreneurs Fund – Bioethanol Project

Description: Funded by the UK government, this project aims to develop sustainable bioethanol from waste biomass, contributing to renewable energy production and waste reduction.
Outcomes: The project received significant funding and support, helping advance bioethanol production technologies and promoting sustainable energy solutions.
