Biogas data analytics and KPI dashboards
Pilot Scale AD Plants for Production Simulations.
ALPS Ecocsience’s performance monitoring service works in conjunction with our laboratory testing regime. ALPS has its own proprietary biogas data analytics and reporting software. Supplying all the performance and optimisation metrics to evaluate results. Lab and site operational data is imported into our reporting software and populated into dashboards. After every refresh the results of the biogas data analytics dashboards are reviewed by members of ALPS technical support team and their interpretations inform the optimisation programme. Commentary and recommendations are added to the client dashboards on a weekly basis by members of the technical team.
Clients receive access to an online portal, where the site-specific data dashboards are available. These dynamic tools enable users to view trends and drill down to examine specific data points. In addition to online reporting, ALPS provide a monthly meeting for extended discussion of results and the programme objectives. Phone support is available continuously from our consultants to respond to client questions.

Biogas data analytics highlights improvement opportunities

Leveraging data-driven insights empowers operators to make informed decisions and advance sustainable energy solutions. One such example is COD monitoring, which adds invaluable insight and plays a pivotal role in optimising anaerobic digestion processes and unlocking the full potential of biogas conversion. By integrating soluble COD monitoring and VS/oDM analysis COD measurement into feedstock design and gas output optimisation strategies, ALPS is helping biogas plant operators maximise biogas production, enhance process efficiency, and bolster overall plant profitability. At ALPS Ecoscience, our motto is “Forward through Science” so we will persist in leveraging data analysis to discern patterns and trends within anaerobic digesters, thus better informing operational decisions and enhancing plant performance. What’s gratifying is seeing the direct relationship to increased biogas output from combining multiple performance metrics. In this instance the resulting insights from soluble COD monitoring and VS/oDM analysis COD are yielding performance improvements of 7% to 13% across a range of biogas plants.
