Pilot Scale AD Plants for Production Simulations.

Alps Ecoscience has a pilot scale plant that can be rented for pre-production tests and feasibility studies. The pilot plant is modular, enabling different equipment and process configurations to be tested and their outputs measured. Every metric is monitored just like in full scale biogas production. The OLR, gas quality, flow rates and the final digestate quality are measured for every scenario. The resultant matrix has informed the design brief for full scale plants and equipment upgrades. It has also driven sophisticated financial models to support the funding of the project and its forecast ROI.

In addition to the digesters the pilot plant has a lab facility for testing and biological evaluation. It features SCADA monitoring equipment and consoles found in biogas plants to replicate everything found in full scale production. Enabling a client to simulate the outcomes prior to an investment. The unit has also been used in feedstock analysis projects. Proving the financial case for implementing pre-treatment processes that improve the yield from fibrous low cost feedstocks.
